(L to R) Jane Watts joined in 1944 (64 years). Floyd Mitchell joined in 1938 (70 years). Kate Holder joined in 1933 (75 years).

These ladies grace our presence almost every Sunday morning. They are always here at Homecoming and participate throughout the year at other church functions and activities. Boy, do they have some stories to tell about the early church years!

Jane Watts remembers a time when there were two narrow aisles and three secions of wooden pews with no padding. Every Sunday had Sunday School, but "preaching" was only on the 3rd Saturday afternoon and the 3rd Sunday morning each month. And all the Sunday school classes met in the large one room building -- men on one side, women on the other and kids in each corner. When someone was baptized, they were dipped under water at Towler's Pond near Pleasant Valley. These baptism services were done about once a year. In the summer!
